They say that knowing is half the battle. So exactly why do men cheat?
There are a variety of reasons, but the ones listed below are the three most prominent.
Watch out for these red flags if you want to cheater proof your relationship. These are the top three reasons why men cheat, and how you can protect your relationship from them.
Why men cheat #1: They meet an attractive and available woman at work.
- He’s spending a lot of time working with a specific woman at the office.
- He often goes out for drinks with his colleagues?
- He has a lot excuses to work late and on weekends.
The work environment is prime hunting grounds for cheating men, in fact, a recent study revealed that nearly half of all affairs begin in the workplace.
Think about the amount of time you spend with your spouse vs. the amount of time you spend with co-workers. Day after day, maybe 40+ hours a week, you and your colleagues share the ups and downs of work; you bond over projects, successes and difficulties at work. The close interaction, travel, and unavoidable closeness may lead to strong friendships and emotional attachments outside your marriage.
The main thing a woman can do to shield her relationship from workplace infidelity is taking an interest in her man’s work life.
Go to some of his work functions with him, pick him up from his office and have lunch together, meet his coworkers.
This will show any woman that’s eyeing him that he’s in a committed relationship, leading her to end her pursuit of his affections.
Only an extremely broken and emotionally unstable woman would be so disrespectful to keep pursuing a fling with a man once she finds out that he’s taken.
Why men cheat #2: They like to conquer women.
- He was messing around multiple women at the same time before you met him.
- He likes taking risks.
- He chased you relentlessly to get you to go on a first date with him.
Many men, especially those who crave adventure, excitement, and peg their self confidence on how many women they can get into bed, find committed relationships to be restrictive, and therefore they cheat.
Simply put, he’s a player and being in an exclusive relationship is boring to him. The only reasons he sticks around is for the girlfriend perks of home cooked meals, and available sex, not the commitment and monogamy.
Your attempts to change his ways are hopeless.
Why men cheat #3: Sex has lost the spark.
- He’s extremely annoyed when you’re not in the mood.
- He has to initiate sex all the time.
- He only says “I love you?” during intimate moments.
No matter how confusing men’s behavior might seem to women, one thing is clear: The grass will be greener elsewhere if he does not find sexual satisfaction from his wife or girlfriend.
Overtime most couple’s sex lives lose a bit of the spark it once had. However, there are many strategies you can use to help fight the loss of intimacy.
Here are a few quick tips I gathered from the men I interviewed for my book Face the Facts: The Uncut Truth That Will Change Your Love Life Forever.
- Try to make the first move sometimes instead of waiting for him to be the initiator.
- Share each other’s fantasies and work on satisfying those imaginations.
- Visual stimulation is as important as physical stimulation to men, so leave the lights on.
When it comes to men and cheating, a lot of it boils down to maturity and commitment. Statistics show that 50 percent of married men will cheat on their wives at one point or another. Which means that 50 percent of all married men don’t cheat.
The strategies I listed above should help you cheater proof your relationship, but what it really boils down to is if the man you committed yourself to, is ready to commit to you.
Until next time ladies.
